Hi all

My apologies if this has been posted before, I couldn't seem to find a recent thread about this. I'm as bronze as they come, currently sitting at 40SC. I've never done a status run and I've noticed that many of you take advantage of double SC promotions.

I live in ADL and I am wondering if anyone could advise me of some good deals. I understand that Noumea isn't as cheap as what it used to be. I did however, see a CNS-BNE-MEL-DPS business fare which would earn me 480 SC one way given double SC promo. Would this be considered a good status run?

Any recommendations would be greatly appreciated, I'm quite new to this.

Cheers

If you are only flying enough to earn 40sc, I wouldn't think it would be worth the $$ for you to do a status run.

Depending on your roll over month and what you are wanting to gain from chasing status which is a decision only you can make. For this run the cost per SC is around $2.54, which is not a bad rate. Also is you are based in ADL factor in getting to from CNS as well.

I only have 40SC because it's the beginning of the year and my other credits expired. I believe last year I was slightly short of attaining silver, but I will be doing much more flying this year. If I use a status run to attain silver then I predict that I'll reach gold by August/September.

Thanks Matt - v helpful re the cost of SC. I need to fly to CNS for work anyway, so the cost isn't a huge factor. I'm already a QC member and so silver really doesn't give me much. The objective would be to reach gold.
