Can anyone remind me when next anticipated double status credit promotion is likely?
Thanks

All the signs point to later this week if there's going to be one.

I would noe I was flipping through December's AA and they quoted QF as saying their year on year forward booking value were up 8% on 2017 which made me pause given the Octover DSC promotion.

ah here is a reference from October 24...
https://www.smh.com.au/business/companies/qantas-revenue-jumps-on-higher-fares-20181025-p50bt5.html

it may well be that they were saying as of late October, AFTER the DSC promo that they had the jump....

Still we'll see.

VA have just announced a DSC deal commencing Friday with a one week booking window.

I wonder if they too have noticed the February pattern and are trying to get the jump on QF?

I wonder if QF will respond?

An airfare war is always nice, but I like the idea of a DSC war:).

Global sale ends tomorrow, perhaps DSC comes after it ends

Hurry, sale ends 11.59PM (AEDT) 31 January 2019, unless sold out prior.

Damn shame my work travel plan for this year is just about to be approved in the next few days.:D I can book whenever but in principle approval plus DSC equals gold for me

Everything points to one starting 1st Feb or soon after...

remember folks, it is probably to your advantage that SHOULD this drop tomorrow or over the coming days to hold off registering till after 1000 AEST (or 0000 Zulu) due to previous issues encountered with registrations being honoured easily and the like. That's my pro tip :D

re fare wars.. a few years back QF and VA had a capacity AND fare ware and both were damaged by this (VA more than QF due to QF's other operations offsetting the domestic drain) and they both ceased fire and more or less seemed to agree to not go there again. Minor skirmishes for sure, but I think the days of the mass discounting and capacity are gone for now as it was too painful for both.

After reviewing the 'expert' predictions last year, which seemed to be more guesswork than anything else, is there anything concrete that points to 1 Feb?

I have a suspicion that the Velocity offer was a pre-emptive strike, so they may know something, but all I see is wishful thinking!

Oh, a large degree of guesswork based on prior experiences.

And seems VA also feels the same given their offer. It would be quite funny if QF do nothing, or it's a double POINTS offer or something. Nothing would surprise me.

It is following a pattern from last year though but... nothing is ever guaranteed :)

I got approval to book two work trips today but am holding off in case DSC drops tomorrow, i could use the boost , anything that gets me to gold before my long haul flights this year would be appreciated.

Of course its educated guess work as to when the DSC offer will come out, Qantas don't seem to pre-announce these things...

Isn't Feb traditionally an off-peak part of the travel year so a good way to stimulate some bookings coming in with a DSC sweetner....

Like the saying goes, if you want a guarantee, buy a toaster... Perhaps from the QF shopping mall... :)

Feb is usually a lower peak time but I had always thought that was for travel rather than bookings per se.

It would be interesting to note whenever the next promo drops, specially after the reduced booking window offered in last Oct's "bonus" promo(basically till the end of the financial year which I think was quite deliberate) if they again have reduced travel windows rather than the "usual" 353 or so amadeus imposed forward booking window. I could see that occuring.

I received a 50% bonus SC offer on Tuesday (29 Jan). Been looking at international flights but not buying. Based on the thread and talks with family EVERYONE is waiting for tomorrow

The T+Cs said I would get the bonus SC but others on the booking would not unless each passenger registered. Sounds like others may be eligible but the offer was NOT transferable. Contradictory?
