From this Wednesday 23 January you will be able to add your CBA Debit MasterCard, MasterCard/Visa credit card to your Apple Wallet and use ApplePay!

For many (and I’m one of them) this might be too little too late to retain CBA as a primary card, but Apple Pay is sensationally convenient so it will tempt me to retain the card as a backup.

Apple Pay - tick
Travel insurance - tick
Reward Points - big fail now
Fee free international purchases - not sure ... was on AMEX but not on MC?

Finally another of the big four crumble. Now only Westpac and NAB are holding out is that still correct? Thankfully everyone I bank with has Apple Pay.

That's right, but I expect NAB and Westpac to follow shortly. Them and CBA (and Bendigo) were in a legal battle with Apple to allow the use of the phone's NFC system to integrate tap and pay within the Banks' own apps, but lost. Those banks will likely now follow in a similar fashion to CBA's removal of ATM withdrawal fees.
