Yes it has grabbed my attention. Very likely I will apply for this as I will spend the $150 per month on petrol without a problem.
Both myself and the Ette applied this arvo - 50K pts ea at minimal cost - no brainer

Struggling to use your Frequent Flyer Points?

I'm also keen to take this one up however believe it or not, I'd have a hard time ringing up $150 per month on fuel given I work from home most of the time. I might wait until my current tank is empty before I apply, that will at least get me on the way there. Might need to buy my toilet paper and toothpaste from Caltex for a while to get that number every month ;)

Good excuse to take more trips around the city and get out a bit more I guess. 50K is a nice bonus for little effort!

Data Point: If past history any guide Caltex attendants don’t care what fuel goes into which vehicle - take family, friend or foe along and top there’s up - grab the cash of course - easy to get to $150

How closely do they check who's actually using it? I'd struggle to get to $150 (for similar reasons to 33kft: lot of stationary work) but with my son we'd get there together.

Another question is the Qantas Business Rewards account required for this. Is there a workaround to join to that without the joining fee?

As per above - past exp is ZERO checking - all attendants are concerned about is swiping your card to get paid for fuel - we have put 2 vehicle fill ups on one card several times.

Popped in to my local Caltex. Had no idea what I wanted until a customer said you ‘apply online’

Aside from the possibility of fraud its hard to know why the attendant would care, they are still getting paid. On top of this its possible to get the card with just a name (no rego) so how would they even know?

Yeah, I don't think they'll sign you up in store. It requires all of your business details (ABN, Directorship and Trustees) plus a credit check and linking to your Qantas Business Rewards account.

If you want the points act on it - don't want the points don't act - they don't hand them to you on a plate.

Given the card has a monthly fee, how difficult are these things to cancel?

Also wondering whether there'd be a credit file hit for a sole trader on their personal file... for those with other forms of credit or planning to apply for a sign-up bonus, that could also be something to consider. :)

As far as I am aware, there will be a credit hit for anyone who applies regardless of trading status. The person applying is responsible should the business incur costs that it is unable to pay.

Pulled the trigger at lunch time and signed up. One of the easier chunks of 50k QFF pts earned I suspect.

Note if you DO NOT select the option to charge tolls to the card or to have the roadside assistance etc there is no requirement to enter your vehicle registration so do not need to worry about the reportedly small chance of any overzealous petrol station attendants as they will have no way of knowing anyway.

Last round, I had some difficulty getting the account closed as the last direct payment didnt clear.

Does anyone know if there is a waiting period for taking up the offer a second time?

Last round I didn't actually receive any bonus pts as Caltex claimed I did not link my QFF # with account when opening - Cruiserette had exactly same problem but talked the Call Rep around after threatening Consumer Affairs contact and I tried same tact with no result.

Cancelled with no problem at all - reapplied last Wed or Thu and approval email arrived this morn. As posted above we lined up 3 vehicles at one time and just tallied all together one pmt and attendant did not blink an eye.

Thanks. Unfortunately my QBR account still shows me as linked to the old Caltex card so I think I'll struggle to claim again (this time anyway)

Does anyone know how the 5 consecutive months is calculated. Eg if I signed up and linked the account on the 22nd of January would I have to spend $150 by the end of January or do I have a full month from the date of signing up? The T&C’s aren’t clear on this.
