PER to BOG - Best fare type

or
PER-SYD-AKL-SCL-BOG vv

Is there a more effective way to do this (within reason, with routing; no need to maximise) other than a point to point J fare?

I would be interested in how you find it over there (since I have friends in Colombia and been wondering about paying a visit (they are in Armenia with relatives in BOG), but I'm a little cautious about the security side of things...).

Most of my colleagues have found it OK, however we're never in BOG for long as we jump on the charter flight out to site...
