Please excuse me if this is too basic a question or in the wrong place, but recently I flew from Melbourne to Chennai on CX via Hong Kong.

The forward trip was V class and my Qantas frequent flyer account was credited promptly.

I didn't realise that my return trip was Q class and was not eligible to earn any points on my QF FF account. Qantas confirmed this for me yesterday but I haven't been able to find a website that shows it. I not querying the decision but would just like to see it in writing! (Am I sounding like a pedantic old fart? Hope not.)

Can't complain about Cathay Pacific. The flights were fine and the service excellent. On CX 632 due out of MAA at 0200 the plane was almost empty. I'd estimate less than 20% occupied. Can't remember ever being on such a quiet flight - and I'm a 68 year old senior.

(I am booked on another CX Q class fare from Melbourne to Nagoya in May 2019).
