I reckon there may be a few red faces at the met right now

Quarantine detector dogs might not be the only animals working at airports soon; they might be joined by anti-drone Wedge-tailed Eagles.

<drone spotted>
"Smithers, release the birds".

...having said that, HMG of the UK is more likely to be implicated in cough-up presently

Cops stuff up, but only after wrecking the the standing of two members of the public.

BAM1748, would these individuals be able to mount a claim for wrongful arrest, or take defamation action against newspapers that published their photos and stated that they were suspected of being the 'droners', or were the police merely carrying out investigations and the newspapers just reporting such facts?

How will these two individuals ever live this down? They could be getting aggressive posts on Facebook and in time hate mail.

That's right, these people could have death threats made against them and no recourse to plod being plod. I bet the media can't even name the bungling copper.

There will always be a % of the popn who will never know or believe that the couple may well be totally innocent. But, after one cough up after another anything could happen next.
