The following was provided in the AFF Monday email and I confirmed these dates myself on Hainan website, so flights are available for some dates, just can't find anything in September 2019. Thanks for looking though.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
We also found flights from Cairns to Brussels (via Shenzhen) for $2,913.56 return:

They have serious website issues so perhaps that is the issue?
Their information on there is way out of date by the looks aswell. Pity it’s such a PITA

Given the financial strain that the Hainan group is under, is there at least a small chance that the airline may cease to operate at relatively short notice?

Thanks for pointing this out. Not something you tend to research when looking for flights. Appears the Chinese Government has bailed them out, which I'm sure means selling your soul. But probably means the chances of financial collapse are minimised.

Its interesting to note, I'm pretty sure travel insurance DOES NOT cover expenses incurred when a provider goes belly up, whether hotel, airlines, tours etc.

Loss of Deposits cover - generally not common in main stream individual covers, however not uncommon in Corporate Travel covers.

Yes, I saw their review was sponsored by the airline. It's certainly a grey area and hard to imagine they would give a negative review after free flights.

I'd generally agree - however... I think the price of the ticket here makes all the difference. For $3000 all you need the review to tell you is whether the seat goes flat, they have food, and if the champagne is sort of cold. Anything else is really a bonus :)

For those having trouble to find flights available at the low price - make sure your dates are within the sale period and do a search on ITA Matrix.

lol and they had me at 'sort of cold champagne' :)

I need to spend some time on ITA Matrix and get famil with it. Thanks for the reminder.

It should just be like brushing your teeth. At least twice daily, morning and night.
Lol do you pop on to do random searches on a regular basis? Or are you tracking specific trips you’re planning?

Both. And then I have the "oh I wonder if the MH HKT to MEL J sale is on again" moments while at work. So that requires investigating too.

I too took these flights in dec 2018 for 3000$ brisbane to brussels return. Hainan business class. It was very good.

Lots of vegetarian food.

The bed was slightly smaller than other airlines Im 6'1.

I wish they would have another similar sale!
