Arrival times, business class configurations from SYD > LHR

My partner and I are looking at flights from SYD > LHR business class.
Which airline does it best? I like to arrive Midday to Late afternoon.
What is most peoples preferred route? Would love to hear from one and all!

Everyone is different and has their favourites.
I do like going via Dubai with EK and have never had an issue with them on the A380. We fly from MEL so take the A380 but I believe the SYD flight has been downgraded to the 777 and from our one and only flight on that I wouldn’t do it again.
CI via TPE is excellent IMO aswell and can often be priced at around $4-5k which is great value. CI flys to LGW though if that is an issue.
Probably the best experience we had in J to Europe was with WY. Comfortable flight with outstanding food and service. It is a 2 stop flight though and uses MH between Australia and KL. Doesn’t suit your arrival time either unfortunately.

I'd probably avoid Singapore Airlines (odd seat with feet having to go in a narrow cubby), and avoid the Qantas A380 (drooping seats that aren't completely flat anymore, despite what's advertised).

Cathay has a good overall seat and excellent IFE. China Airlines as mentioned above has the same seating type.

Oh, you might consider JAL as well with their apex suites. Or Qatar's q-suites. But you'll need to check the configuration of the aircraft on your specific flight, and timings.

The new configuration on SQ A380s (not all of them just yet) are far better and have the option of a double bed. I’ve booked to Japan next May and have my fingers crossed that it will be upgraded. I personally found the old configuration comfortable enough, even though it was fiddily setting up the bed.

I flew Etihad to LHR and was able to upgrade at check in from J to F for $800. If you can manage to get a deal like this, you are on a sure winner. But even Etihad J Class is very, very good.

Agree. Haven’t tried the new A380, but for me the issue is the inconsistency. You might get an old or new configuration. Or the A380 might not be on one or more of the flights at all. Or could get changed with the next schedule.

Other airlines are more consistent seating wise.
