TomCat's new digs!

I see some IKEA /KMart storage items in your pantry’s life.

It all looks wonderful. How did the space under the oven work out?

Hope that pain settles. I get pain in my right upper chest from an esophagus dysmotility issue (bloody lupus) that I’m always relieved is on my right side because if on my left side I’d never know if it was that or heart.

The oven space is still a mystery....

Worst part of the pain was that it included my arm, that had the gp concerned. Hence ambulance.

I think BC has quite a collection of Tupperware (as in the real stuff). :) Looking forward to seeing the ‘after’ photos.

When I did a small reno of my holiday rental place, I had USBs put into the bedroom and at the kitchen bench. Was often the most commented-on feature of the place.

I think its discussed pages ago but considering how much the home builder charges for these "extras", its cheaper after hand over buy a box and have them all replaced along with various light fittings, sink fittings ect that are cheaper to get after hand over.

Yeah we decided to do all our own lighting etc. Sink fittings was fine to do through the builder. But doing all our own towel rails, toilet roll holders etc.

Is there some shocking news about Bunning's products?

And where would an electrician purchase such items?

While I'm sure they comply with Australian standards, the quality isn't the same. An electrician would go to a wholesaler.

Where would you expect the supplies from an electrical wholesaler vs a hardware supplier are manufactured? As you say they have to comply with Australian standards.

I checked with an "electrical contractor" relative of mine who said most mainstream electrical fittings manufacturers have a "generic" brand sold through hardware outlets and then they sell their "brand name" products to electrical wholesalers and onto electricians, who are passing on the cost with a mark up, so it is the total cost that is important to them. He said think Coles and Woolworths home brands as far as quality goes as they usually come out of the same factory. The advantage of an electrical wholesaler to a contractor is the greater variety and the immediate availability of bulk supplies.

Anyway, the question was where to get USB enabled power points and I think that has been answered.

Received our final invoice today...still chasing a credit for my front door bricks. The worst bit is our Supervisor would have fixed it the way I wanted, without cost :(

Well Clipsal is made in Adelaide.

If you want cheap copies, go ahead

Fencing now confirmed for this week; they were running a bit behind. That gets our impatient neighbour off my back (8am messages on a Sunday morning!)

Most definitely. I figure a couple of hundred is the least they can do given I have to look at the door every day.

Final invoice has gone to the bank, so we’re waiting on their valuation to release the funds. Plus rectifications and an occupation certificate, and a handover date.
