DEVELOPING: A QANTAS domestic flight carrying 111 passengers pulled out of a take-off today at Melbourne Airport after noises were heard coming from the undercarriage.

I want to join the QF bashing club, anyone have the contact details or do we just call the local media?

Re: Didnt take long for another QF bash: Qantas jet aborts take-off after noises hear

So, again, the appropriate action was taken. Big news.

Re: Didnt take long for another QF bash: Qantas jet aborts take-off after noises hear

Sounds bad

A Qantas spokeswoman says QF850 had problems with its air conditioning duct unit.

Re: Didnt take long for another QF bash: Qantas jet aborts take-off after noises hear

/news ltd/ 400 Qantas passengers were in danger when their Qantas 707's air conditioning failed at an altitude about sea level. The Qantas engineers are on strike of course, and recent enormous explosions on other qantas flights means this was really serious. Joe Bloggs, a Qantas customer who saw the flight from inside the termial was head to remark - "gosh, they had to come back to the terminal and wait for repairs, it must be life threatening."

Did we menion it was a Qantas flight??

PLANE HORROR

Melbourne passengers told of their horrific terror aboard a Canberra bound Qantas flight which was politely asked to return to Melbourne yesterday due to shortage of food.

Some passengers were terrified that the 309 passengers were told few details of the tragedy.

They said the plane "Seemed normal, but everyone knew it was posessed by the Devil" before turning around.

As a precaution, fire trucks were on standby when the Airbus 767 landed.

Passenger Ms I. Dover last night was still recovering from the ordeal.
"I was scared for my life and I don't scare easily", the passenger said

Grounded Qantas jet had 95 defects | The Australian

A QANTAS jet grounded in Melbourne today because of noise from an air-conditioning fault was the same plane that returned from routine maintenance in Malaysia two months ago with 95 defects.

The Canberra-bound Boeing 737 jet returned to the terminal and passengers were transferred to another plane, finally leaving Melbourne 90 minutes later, just before 1pm (AEST).

A Qantas spokeswoman said QF850 had problems with an air-conditioning duct unit while taxiing towards the runway.

Re: Didnt take long for another QF bash: Qantas jet aborts take-off after noises hear

Out of interest, Has DJ had a flawless record over the last few weeks? Toilets working? No delayed flights? No A/C going tech at the last minute?

Incorrect! They have had a fair few cancellations and delays. And have even put their pax on to JQ flights.

WHERE IS THE MEDIA ON THEM???

Re: Didnt take long for another QF bash: Qantas jet aborts take-off after noises hear

NothingNews Ltd have now linked this plane with claims that it recently came back from overseas maintenance with 95 defects.

Grounded Qantas jet had 95 defects | The Courier-Mail

The 737, registered as VH-TJU, is the same aircraft on which Qantas engineers found 95 defects that had been missed during contract maintenance work by Malaysian Airlines in Kuala Lumpur.

News Limited newspapers at the time said the faults included a galley that was so badly installed it was a fire risk and gave a flight attendant an electric shock.

The Qantas spokeswoman confirmed the aircraft in today's incident was the same one.

Wow. The media's stupidity keeps astounding me. Qantas sees issues with planes and fixes them. So the media picks on them for finding faults (ie having proper procedures), but also hammers them for not having proper procedures.

Can't they divert their attention more to Optus and their failing mobile network in Queensland? There have only been three major incidents there in the last three weeks. More than Qantas has had!

And another article from 'NEWS'.com.au

http://www.news.com.au/story/0,23599,24147906-29277,00.html
San Francisco-bound flight QF73 was due to depart at 1.55pm (AEST) but its takeoff has been pushed back until 9pm.

A Qantas spokeswoman said routine pre-flight checks had picked up a "minor technical issue that required rectification" but would not say what the problem was.

Will somebody please shoot these writers and do something to their offices?

Malaysian engineers defend Qantas record | NEWS.com.au

MALAYSIAN Airlines has defended its maintenance of Qantas aircraft, saying experts from the Australian carrier signed off on all repairs.
