Use VPN then Amazon in USA

It's not access that is the issue, but delivery. You can access the Amazon US (and others) sites from here, but if the delivery address is Australia, it will not send it there. Going through a VPN won't change that.

Of course, you can send it either way to a forwarding service, but as they're low value items we're talking about, it's almost certainly uneconomical.

Why. Shipping is a 'Service' and part of the landed price for retail imported goods.

And in the "olden days" it was included in the value for Sales Tax.
