Jetstar.com goes mobile - Low Cost Airline News

Jetstar has created a new version of Jetstar.com that can now be quickly and easily viewed by passengers via their 3G mobile phones, no matter where they are in Australia.
Jetstar is the first Australian airline to offer a specially-designed version of its website to allow seamless internet browsing for 3G mobile technology, including the new Apple iPhone 3G which has just been launched in Australia.

Jetstar flight schedules, fares, destination and airport information are now available for all mobile users with 3G via Jetstar.com, as part of the carrier’s first stage of technology enhancements for mobile phones.

In the coming months, Jetstar passengers will be able to make changes to their JetFlex and StarClass bookings using their 3G mobile phones. Plans also include the ability for passengers to book and pay for their tickets using their 3G mobile phones.

I think this is the mobile.jetstar.com / wap.jetstar.com site.

Maybe they should provide tachnology enhancements to handle to load when they announce sale fares first.

They are.. They will be upgrading to NewSkies, instead of their currunt system OpenSkies.

Cool. Although this was more driven by the platform that OpenSkies runs on going out of support, than Jetstar deciding it was a good idea.

Not necessarly. The decided to upgrade to the new system so they could do more things with their flights and systems. The testing of it is continuing at the moment, and hopefully will be going live around november.

I am sure Navitaire would have given them a nudge in that direction.
