Amex Local Champion Reset or Uncapped for 2018 ?

I reach my 10,000 points cap around mid 2017 on my Explorer card but to my surprise i have recently gained local champion on my fav supplier and amex notify me via the Apps that i earn 493 extra points on 13/1/2018 . Check back the Local Champion Tab on Amex apps it show number or points earn is 10,493 points .

Anyone else earning the same bonus on top of your capped 10,000 , base on my understanding that capped is not reset every year , it look like that either reset it for 2018 or uncapped it all .

I shop at several Coles in my area but Mrs andye is only LC at one. I'll now go back to buying CG&M cards at that one while it seems uncapped (hadn't seen the point previously as I knew she'd hit 10K eventually)

I do not know if the LC T&C have changed, but they could now be interpreted that the 10,000 point cap is for EACH selected merchant.

Therefore, it may be possible to earn more than 10,000 points in total, as long as you earn at multiple merchants (it is unclear if all Coles stores for example are the same merchant or seperate merchants).

the extra LC points finally came through, took approx ~4-5wks since transaction date.
I did't chase them or anything

Mrs andye's Edge has now stopped earning bonus points at 19815 despite remaining LC at Coles. No formal notification like previously. Good while it lasted
