Yesterday I was lined up at gate 22 in CNS for JQ flight to OOL and at the boarding desk, when my boarding pass was scanned, I was asked (as I had exit row seat) had I sat in an exit row previously, I responded "yes" and then I was asked what I thought was a strange question "How long ago" or "how recently", cant recall the exact wording.

I have not experienced this before on any airline, is this something new being adopted?

Was asked yesterday at OOL.

At a guess some people may not be aware they will be sitting in exit row.

Also asked 2 weeks ago in BNE.

As an aside, how long do members usually find JQ flights to post? My first 'Max' bundle seems to have got lost :(

Around 24 days for my flights.

I will need todays flight to get to 1200 SCs by end of May. Assuming it doesn't post for 24+ days I may drop to Gold for a day or so?

I may get a Moderator (;)) to move this discussion into its own thread, but this tardiness would be the only thing that would stop me more seriously considering 'Jetstar Max' fares in the future when travelling within Australia.

It already has its own thread
Jetstar SC are taking up to 6 weeks to post based on recent experiences.

Back to topic, Jetstar has been asking the Exit Row questions since beginning of year. Why they are asking I do not know.

I also confirm they've been asking all year on the NTL-BNE route.

I assumed if you said you've never sat there they might have a longer script rather than "are you able & willing to assist" - ie they may go into the checklist regarding eyesight, upper body strength to lift the exit etc.

Also Probably whether the passenger has the mental ability to be an exit row passenger..
