Travel-related so hope this OK to post.

Been in the US a few days and having trouble connecting to certain Wi-Fis.

IPhone 6+ and usually have no problem connecting. But many times here, I can find the network, and it 'joins' with a tick, but there is no connection - the broadcast symbol does not appear and I'm not prompted for a password when one is required.

WiFi configured so that all attributes (configure IP etc) are 'automatic'. I haven't installed the latest iOS update.

Strangely, some connect without a problem, while others just won't. Here in AA Lounge, signal is good (laptop connects OK), but again, iPhone joins but no connection, Laptop can always get connected when the iPhone won't.

Any suggestions as to what might be going on?

I have a data plan, so I'm not totally restricted, but strange that 'all of a sudden' I'm having problems connection.

All suggestions to fix issue gratefully received.

Often there’s quite some delay on the iPhone awaiting the pop up to enter password or “accept t&c’s”. Experienced similar just recently in US.

No issues connecting an iphone 5S to wifi in Admirals Club in Lax, Ord or JFK.

Ancient Ipad also connected fine.

No such issues last month with my relatively ancient Galaxy S4 ... Although my Asus netbook on W10 took affront to "Slow" connections.

Sometimes I'd have to power off and back on again for the wifi to *actually* connect

Did that - no change.

Actually it seems to have been an entirely New York thing. Flagship lounge JFK - No. Flagship lounge MIA, no problem, and no problem with any wifi service since I left New York.

Go figure.

Try a different browser. I find that the Samsung default browser doesn’t always redirect properly.
