In never surprised by what people pinch.

2000, the Olympic torch went past our house so we all eagerly waited behind a barrier that was created by the blue and white police tape.

After most people were gone, I notice a woman behaving strangely, and she then pocketed a full roll of of the police tape that was hanging off a tree.

Not like there's many alternative uses for get behind the line police tape.

Last month I had someone remove over 100 mangoes from our tree in the front yard.

My husband's wet speedo have also been stolen... Yes they were in his swim bag in the back of his ute but it makes me happy, knowing the thief got a hand full of warm, crotch moist old man's speedos :)

The thing is that proof of law in court is different from moral outrage. And even check out operators double bag when needed.

Who is stating that you cannot double bag when needed? As I have stated that is fine.

It is thirty-bagging that I have trouble with. Particularly when if it is not thirty bagging but rather double bagged and then another 28 "accidentally" incorporated.

Ah you really don’t need me to tell you that is a bit silly, do you.
Not that silly. I am not going to pay for plastic bags. It makes no sense to give in to their stupidity. I will just re-use the bags in my possession.

P.S. What happens if you click and collect? Do they charge you for the plastic bags then? What if they use 4 plastic bags but you only need one plastic bag? They've opened a can of worms.

We don’t seem to have any issues in SA. And this is getting way OT :)

But you see, none of that is written into law anyway. You are taking a moral and practical stand which is fine but that isn’t the way the law of theft works.

At the risk of going off topic. One very funny "free" item that I once saw almost "acquired" was at one of professional level events that I was conducting.

During one of the speaking sessions a lady came out and went into the ladies room. I was in the expo area chatting with a few others when she re-emerged. She got half-way back towards the theatre when out popped from under her coat a large toilet roll which then, just like in the commercials, proceeded to unwind and roll out in a straight line in front of her towards the theatre door and past us leaving a white trail. Whereupon she, without batting an eyelid, veered left and went out the main door never to be seen again. ;)

Ah, those were the sort of things we used to do as poor backpackers, some hotels used to lock their toilet paper in a way so that the rolls couldn't be stolen, the Taj Hotel in Bombay (as it was then) springs to mind!
Decent toilet paper in India was not cheap, we could live for a week at Goa for the cost of a decent roll.

For Woolworths here, we don’t pay for thin plastic bags for click and collect or home delivery. They are not the same as the ones you pay for at the checkout. Assume it would be similar in other states wth a bag ban.

I dare say this will be ignored just my my previous request to consider amalgamating the Cats of the World thread with the Moggies thread, but how nice it would be to have a "DISLIKE" button or function.

Guess I'll have to start cross posting the same post in different threads, one good way to get my post count up to over 38,000.
Oh that would be cool and sooooo dangerous :D
I do cross post though, with pix - usually in the View from my Office, and either in this thread or a TR. Shamelessly so.

Just watched on SBS a programme about the nuclear reactor disaster in Chernobyl and how they are building a new sarcophagous to cover the old one which is crumbling, I enjoyed reading about this in Sludge321's trip report.

Around the world in NZ/LH/LX/SA J (and LA/UX/BA/TP/U2/KL Y) - including Chornobyl

Certainly puts the complaints of the cost of a plastic bag from a supermarket into perpective, but of course ymmv.
That was very erudite of you. My brain was a bit tired this evening so it was only the program on the HMY Britannia. I visited it one time I was in Edinburgh. After that a bit of mindless Netflix.:)

Today, I streamed the Darkest Hour. Bugger, it was the longest hour, didn't finish it (TSV-BNE) .... been a terrific movie, so far!

Will have to catch it up next week ;)

Measles alert after passenger who flew from Bali to Tulla falls ill

Qantas flight QF44 from Denpasar arrived in Sydney at 6:25am on Saturday, March 10 and the passenger then boarded QF415, arriving at Tullamarine at 10:35am the same day.

Public Health physician Dr Finn Romanes said they were working with airline officials to identify and contact passengers who shared both the international flight into Sydney and the domestic flight into Melbourne.

"People who were at Melbourne Airport on Saturday, March 10, particularly around the domestic baggage collection area, who develop illness from now until Wednesday, April 4 should alert their doctor or hospital emergency department," Dr Romanes said.

They also went to the Lentil as Anything restaurant...

Click and collect sounds like the way to go.

Yikes, made a £60 Click and Collect order for Tesco today!

Bottled water, toiletries, couple of cups of emergency noodles, some snacks - adds up quickly.

Selected to pay £0.40 for bags :)
