Isn't this what Emirates do on their 777's and Cathay propose on theirs too. 10 abreast? I believe Qatar, Air France and Etihad already have 10 across in Y

And KLM, Air France, Air NZ, American doing same with theirs, I am sure there are others. The new norm. I detest it.

That’s a rather broad generalisation JohnK. It could be that airlines are recognising that the largest pax growth area is middle class 70kg Chinese and Indians. (my turn for a broad generalisation)

For the original issue, I guess the only response is to vote with ones wallet. And fly Y+ or J.

Weight gain is a global epidemic and getting worse. I think I read somewhere the average western male weight is 87kg? And Asians are not immune from this trend.
