Tip: hold off registering or any other associated activities until AFTER midnight UTC/GMT (ie: 1100 AEDT) to ward off the timezone gremlins.. save a lot of hassle!!

I recall some people had time zone issues. I don't think registering was problematic but it wouldn't hurt to leave it until later.

Definitely not advisable to make bookings or buy vouchers until after 11am.

I experienced the time gremlin last time. Required a manual intervention - which was fine, but still required me to remember and then make the request. Much better to hold off I agree.

The T&Cs state it's QF marketed and operated flights only. But the footnote also notes SCs are earned on OW alliance members, J* and FJ. Potential for confusion?

• An eligible flight for the purpose of this promotion means any Domestic or International Qantas operated flight with a QF flight number on your ticket where Status Credits are normally earned.
  
• Bonus Status Credits earned from this offer do not count towards Loyalty Bonus or Platinum One Loyalty Bonus earn requirements.

So no more codeshares with a QF number and no more easy P1 re-qualification

Given your own experience with the P1 gift/travel wallet and the notion that it was due to commonwealth govt stuff seems there's been a real crack down, or an attempt at one.. prob to do with FBT and all that too.

I dunno. Mine's all self funded (and no I hadn't seen that particular wording before in any promo but of course that doesn't mean it hasn't been out there before)

It's now been ~90 mins after 12.01am AEDT on 1 Feb 2018.

Btw, with the last DSC promo, did anyone book during the promotion period, then subsequently make a change to the PNR after that time? If so, did you still get the DSC for the eligible flights?

I guess it's there to mark the fine print for this separate paragraph, which exhorts us to buy more expensive tickets in general (not just during this offer):

Those two paragraphs are background that's separate to the DSC offer. Or at least, maybe that's a plausible explanation — agreed that it'd be a bit clearer without.

Not sure whether I'll be able to take advantage of this one, as dates for trips later in the year are nowhere near firmed up. After reading the voucher T&Cs recently, I've concluded those aren't of much interest to those of us living outside Australia . OTOH I guess I can book flights now for random far-off dates and eat a change fee or two…

The double SCs still count toward qualification, just not the 5000SC & 7000SC bonuses.
