.... but I lost any sympathy for the couple when I saw they'd named their child 'Cooper'.
While you can understand delays happen, that whole situation quite frankly is a joke - being stuck on a grounded plane for 12+ hours when there is a terminal right outside and getting barely any food, well I would be quite filthy as well.
The only thing I'll add is that news.com.au is obviously trying to go the emotive route about the family missing xmas day, this I do not feel sorry for. You as a traveller must be aware that delays happen with every airline, so if you want to get to your destination by a certain time you have to factor in for possible unexpected delays which occur regularly. Travelling at peak periods plus UK winter can easily result in delays, so if you want to make xmas day organise your flights so that you're scheduled to arrival earlier then xmas eve.
Was the Terminal open, were the appropriate staff at the terminal etc, plenty of factors to look at
So you'd be happy being stuck on that plane for 12+ hours then with hardly any food & drink, ok.
Never said I’d be happy, just pointing out that just because there is a terminal next to the plane doesn’t mean access to that terminal is easy.
I am fairly sure JB discussed the limitations and issues of the airport in question
AFF Supporters can remove this and all advertisements
Fair enough, point taken.
On the face of it though, this seems like a fairly extreme delay and you would think QF would be a bit more apologetic.

He did. But that doesn't explain why only QF and AF went there. And AF's pax were off the plane within a couple hours and on their way to DXB. Without an explanation it isn't easy for people to understand how one airline can manage a situation but the other doesn't.
