Ouch. Was the glass door frosted or had stickers at least?

I remember as a kid, sitting the hallway playing with my brother and for whatever reason, my head slammed backwards into the glass door and it shattered. Back then, I hate to think how much it cost my parents to replace (migrant/factory worker family).

They used to have stickers but someone decided to remove them a few weeks back (they were logos for the previous occupant), before replacements were available

Risk assessment = replace all glass doors at enormous expense.

Nothing wrong with the door, same can't be said about the person's nose though.

Wish it was possible to create your own luck. Some people are very lucky at everything they do.

I see you used to work in OH&S :p

Oh, when 'OH&S' arrived at the large mining/exploration company I worked at (1990s), in their full administrative, Head Office glory, and saw how we operated out in the bush, you should have seen them. They sort of resembled this: :eek::eek:

Mind you, I can now see that my driving from the bush camp in the Top End by myself to a location I didn't tell anyone about too exactly ("I'll be mapping around Mt Paqualin"), then go wandering about the bush by myself all day, with only a pm radio sked afterwards, might be considered a bit risky.

Did it for years - a wonderful working day.

Is anyone watching The Handmaidens Tale? I need a good therapy session after every episode

Have heard it's very good but doubt I will ever get to it.
I have started watching The Vietnam War by Ken Burns. Three episodes in and it's very good. It's already also directed to me to several books I will need to find.

Won't say more though as don't want to be chided for talking TV in the wrong thread.

Watched a number of episodes but didn't find it enthralling as many seem to do. Don't see any redeeming aspects of the series. The original book was better.:)

Just finished last series of Black Mirror which I thought were very good.

The ending of episode 3 was different.
It’s curious - reading a lot of feminist interpretation and those reviews are painting a very bleak interpretation of it all. I’m finding it brutal but not interpreting it so much. There is a lot of stuff happening to both genders

Well, I wondered that too but it isn’t a spoiler post so I think it’s fine?

So sad Ozduck. You just don't think of such a possibility. But at my age it is always a chance hence we always have insurance.
Were they on the Silver Explorer? It was there about that time and always has the penguins in the Wesr Falklands as it's first stop.

Sorry I don't know the name of the ship, but that sounds like it is a possibility.

I watched the entire series on SBS on Demand, I found it enthralling and there were so many opportunities to avoid the conflict. All of the presidents from Kennedy to Nixon lied to the American public and the world.

A shameful episode in American (and Australian) history. None of the western countries should have intervened in a civil war.

However, I reiterate the comment that we must hate the war and support the warrior.

Don't tell John but I left the office at 3.30 today and had a nap when I got home :)

Or even better...last minute working from home yesterday and at 2.30 I had to have a nap. Woke 3 hours later...

But then I did work from 7pm -11pm.
