MyFlights App to close

My flights app is iTunes only.

The desktop version works fine for Amadeus bookings on andriod.

Just got an email to say the MyFlights service is being discontinued at the end of the year ( will work for existing bookings up until 30th June 2018).

Just got an email to say the MyFlights service is being discontinued at the end of the year ( will work for existing bookings up until 30th June 2018).

But monitoring ceases 31 December. Amadeus issue.

“What will happen to my bookings?
You can continue to use the MyFlights app and MyFlights on the web as normal until 31 December 2017.”

After this date, your existing bookings will no longer be monitored for changes and you won't be able to add new bookings to your account.

You will be able to view your existing bookings until 30 June 2018, at which point your account and all associated data will be permanently deleted.

Devastated to wake up to this news. It was an invaluable app to notify of flight changes, which sometimes were available before the airline provided an update and allowed me to stay ahead of the others.

Will have to investigate the ExpertFlyer schedule/aircraft change alert a bit more now to see if it can cover some of the gap MyFlights has left.

It told me info way before the airlines got around to it. On one occasion I received a seat change alert while in F lounge at Sydney and beat the lounge staff to the news.

What a shame..... have a heavy schedule coming up over the next month - will look forward to the countless updates.

Got the email last night too.

Total disaster this app has fallen over.

It seems they haven't been able to maintain access (presumably on commercially acceptable terms).

I loved getting instant updates and emails when bookings changed. I hope something similar can replace it in due course.

Only yesterday I was able to recover when a MEL-SYD flight was changed to be operated by 332 rather than a 73H.

I have subscriptions to award wallet, tripit and Expertflyer. I'll need to examine those options more closely.

Tripit (pro version) will only monitor flight changes within 48 hours of departure. So those schedule changes in the future are missed.
I had a booking with QF CNS-BNE 25 Feb next year in J that MyFlights alerted had changed just last Friday.
Notification email a few hours before the QF email.
(The reroute was CNS-WTB-MEL-BNE.)
I think that finding aircraft changes like the 73H to 332 changes will have to be done manually now.

We had a timely notification of a gate change last week from Award Wallet, pity we were sitting in front of the departures board at the time! Think we might subscribe to Expert Flyer for our OneWorld RTW Award for next year unless there is a better option available.

Loved MyFlights though I have noticed that alerts have been getting slower over the past month or so.
Don’t know what I’ll use now.

Amadeus owns checkmytrip.
I’ve put my next booking in to checkmytrip and it retrieves the booking on line like myflights used to do.
Not sure if it will find changes proactively like myflights as yet. The FAQ says this will occur for Amadeus bookings.

I just changed a Qantas award booking and it was in checkmytrip within 30 minutes. ie I first looked at 30 min and the change had occurred.

I've had a booking in CMT and after you posted I put in our September one on Qatar. Seats are inserted fine as is the schedule change. I've had so many schedule changes with our May/June and Sept trips I'm going a bit barmy and with the demise of MyFlights was getting a little worried. So how can they do it but not MyFlights. I'd be happy to pay for a reliable app.

I'd rather they had just kept check my trip in a useful form, like it used to be, instead of hacking it apart into yet another account only, downloadable mobile app only unhelpful waste.

Checkmytrip showing "flight change" however what it appears to have done is lost the QF2 arrival into LHR (as booked) and replaced with arrival time into SIN.

Same with QF10 (arrival now PER timing, not MEL as booked).

I'm still devastated that MyFlights is ending.
