Sorry in my very humble opinion the best experience a captain can give me is to deliver me to the destination airport at a takeoff to landing ratio of 1:1
I have no expectation that they will want to talk to me pre or post flight because preflight they should be concentrating on getting the airplane into correct config before takeoff and post flight, I’m outta there quicker than you can drop a hot potato. Inflight I have no expectation either
Some captains may want to and It would be a pleasure to chat but I will have no issues with them if they don’t.
A senior employee talking to customers, it can only be a good thing on many levels.

Comes out of his nap time in the coughpit?On long haul flights, if the captain goes back and talks to the passengers for an hour...where does that hour come from? Is it from his time off? Does that add to his duty time? Can he take if from the pool of time available for rest, and so take it from the FO's time off?
RdC is not particularly senior....
