Hi all

A little while ago I booked a return economy flight to Noumea and took advantage of the half price sale of points that was on.

I have never upgraded before but I noticed I could now apply to upgrade for 26k for the Syd to NOU leg on Aircalin. I applied a couple of days ago but I have not yet received a reply.

How long will it be before Qantas makes a decision on my upgrade request and are these often accepted? How likely is it that my upgrade request for 27 April will be approved?

Cheers Peter

You cannot upgrade using points on flights that are not operated by Qantas. Is your SYD-NOU flight operated by Aircalin or Qantas?

You can read more about the upgrade process, including timelines on international upgrades, on the Qantas web site here.

The leg I have asked to upgrade is QF361 which is a codeshare with Aircalin (Aircalin metal). It appears that I can apply to upgrade. Thanks for the link.

The only issue is - how long does it take to get an answer?

For international flights, all Qantas Frequent Flyers can register for an upgrade. International upgrade registrations are considered depending on your Frequent Flyer membership level and will be considered in accordance with the following schedule:

• Platinum One Frequent Flyers, from 7 days prior to the scheduled flight departure;
• Platinum Frequent Flyers, from 48 hours prior to the scheduled flight departure; and
• Other Frequent Flyers, within 24 hours of the scheduled flight departure.

Domestic and international Classic Upgrade Reward registrations are prioritised according to your Qantas Frequent Flyer membership level: Platinum first, followed by Gold, Silver and then Bronze.

Thanks

I checked my details and discovered that I had put my mobile number in with the 0 prefix. I have fixed this and resubmitted the upgrade request as well as now put in an upgrade request to business for the reverse leg,

Looks like I will have a long wait before I know,,,
