Currently sitting in the J lounge in Melbourne waiting to board to Doha, connecting to Frankfurt and finally LH to Berlin. Couple of pics of QF J from Brisbane to Melbourne J service en route

5pm dinner service -
Choice was either a salad or Steamed Trevalla with shiitake mushrooms, bok Choi and steamed rice. Both of us had the fish - teamed with the Shaw and Smith Sav Blanc. Ginger sauce was not overpowering - indeed this is a dish that is a staple at ours - flavoursom and simple.[/ATTACH]

The cake thing though was a bit too much for me- I took all the icing off and ate half the cake just as a taste test - it was “meh” ....

Booked separately but we’ve allowed nearly three hours. If we’re delayed and need to buy another then cest le vie ...

On board now - the seat is almost identical to Virgins J class - not AS private - but I’m liking it - some J seats can get a tad claustrophobic.

Have arrived into Doha - manages. Few hours sleep. Had the pea soup and the fish.
Servings were quite generous, enough so that I didn’t want a small cheese plate to finish off, which is what I normally do. After dinner went to the bar area to stretch legs and have a night cap. I didn’t realize how large it was going to be.

Then the pea soup. Quite chunky with pieces of thinly sliced onion and green beans and small cubes of potato. Not what I was expecting but delicious.

Doha lounge was vast, but we found the food offerings to be rather poor. Sure, they put on a good show, table service etc, but there was nothing "breakfasty" that I would have liked. Upon arrival we headed straight to the showers and booked ourselves in. The attendant told us to come back at 6am ( it was 5.30am). Glad we booked, When we can back at 6 there was a line up and we were told do go straight in . The other half heard some other pax were protesting at our treatment. Sorry guys!!

Menu From Doha to FRA. As you can see it wasn't that great. Had the "Pastrami and Turkey", which was actually bresaola and turkey, then the scrambled eggs and beef.

Like the look of the fruit offering in the bar area. I'd definitely consider putting QR in a QF 280k J award booking so very interested in your thoughts on the service.

They must have thought your were royalty or a celeb - hehe

I have heard that showers are like hens teeth in the Doha lounge so you did well.
