My company has just started using a travel agent to book our over seas fares rather than doing it direct with the airline. I am going to be taking my first trip next month, I am curios do you still earn SC when the trip was booked through a travel agent who booked it through Qantas Holidays? The booking does not show up in my FF Account and can only be viewed by going to manage booking.

Thanks

Make sure your frequent flyer number is added to your booking. See if you can add it when editing your details when managing your booking. If not you'll need to contact your travel agent and get them to add it. They should hopefully be willing to keep a note of your FF number so that they can add it as a matter of routine in future but you will need to keep an eye on it.

Yeah I can see it is on there in the manage booking. I read the terms of Qantas holidays but it only mentions FF Points not SC.

I would have thought you would still earn SC (on fares that would earn SC if booked directly on qantas.com) unless the T&Cs specifically state that you will not earn them. Let us know how you get on.

As I'm sure you're aware some fare booking classes on some airlines wouldn't earn any SC e.g. a EK ticket regardless of booking class doesn't earn any QF SC whereas a QF ticket on the same flight does earn SC.

Yes, QF flights, no matter the booking source, will earn (as will oneworld and other SC earning partners like FJ). You do not need to book directly through QF to earn SC on QF and its partners, unless on a (very rare) fare that excudes such earning in it's T&C (eg what used to be the international "E" class fares, but I think are no longer).
