Nanjing style braised pork with black vinegar sauce, bok choy and jasmine rice.(main plate)A dish adapted from Neil Perry's Spice Temple restaurant. Pork is braised in a stock of soy sauce, Chinese rice wine, garlic, ginger and other aromatics. The pork is then fried until golden and served with steamed rice, bok choy and black vinegar sauce that helps lighten heavy, meaty flavours. This dish is best enjoyed with a glass of light to medium bodied red i.e. Grenache or GSM.
I had a meal similar to this on my recent PEK-SYD flight. The one I ate had a lot of chilli in it and I have to say it was one of the best meals I have ever had.

(Don't tell that to Qantas Management or they might change it)

It DOES sound rather nice, I always feel that good old Neil shines the most when he works on some slightly more 'exotic' tastes, so Asian or Middle Eastern etc. I've just chosen the beef brisket because that fits my destination a bit better (like the braised pork would have suited Bejing) but now have second thoughts after your feedback! :p

QF4 in the weekend had one of the best chicken dishes I have had , in flight in ages.
The chicken was well cooked and hot...corn was hot and succulent and the potatoes weren't bad either.
Surprise this was in economy on my way home.
Sadly the disappointment did come up when they ran out of the pasta halfway around.
However thought it still deserved some praise.
This encourages me to pre order...as I was most disappointed not to have the pasta
Oops
.....missed the business part in the heading
