Hi there.

I am a Hyatt explorist.

A family member has rung me tonight in a panic trying to book the Hyatt Nusa Dua. They are having an awful time trying to pay and the hotel is saying they must pay through Duku. This isn't working.

Has anybody tried to pay through this service before? If I call the frequent guest guest number do you think they will call my family member and process the booking direct?

I've used points to stay at this property before and the hotline took the payment and the property processed the payment on departure. I would like that for them.

Any tips?

I'm not familiar with duku. However, any business that makes it difficult for me to pay them isn't going to get my business. Just book somewhere that values their business.

Sorry, not really a useful response.

I'm with Daver6. That area is full of good hotels and the Hyatt is a zoo every time I've walked through/around it (never stayed). The Laguna is nearby and excellent, and I love the Conrad further up the road.

Is your family member trying to book through a legitimate source? The Grand Hyatt (in Sanur) is the only Hyatt in Bali taking reservations. The other has been closed for some time and I haven't seen anything saying when it's re-opening.

I think you have this back to front. Hyatt Nusa dua is still operating, sanur has been closed for some time. The thread begs the question why not book through Hyatt.com?

Indeed I do. Here I was thinking I'd spent three nights in Sanur last year!

I was wondering when that supposed Nusa Dua closure had happened; thinking "6 months isn't that long!!"

All seems a bit sus, I generally only book direct unless I'm getting a great and verifiably legit deal.

Just to update and close out. It was direct with Hyatt. I ended up having to split the booking. And then it processed the transfer.
