A flight to NZ (or from NZ) is no different from any other international flight - same rules apply re liquids in carry ons. And yes the enforce it - including confiscating jars of jam.
You can take a "a bottle or two aboard" (or more) if you buy them in the sterile area in NZ, AUS and USA. You can't do that in other countries, unless they deliver to the gate. That's a fairly big difference. So it's not really no different from any other international flight. No reference was given to a winery. But fair enough, if purchased outside the airport sterile area, then the usual LAG laws (> 100ml) would apply for carry-on.I took the reference to bringing back bottles of wine from NZ as bought from a winery etc vs duty free - given no reference to duty free was made.
