Using frequent flyer points for flights have card payment gone up, Melbourne to Los Angeles economy $420.00, business $850.00, first class $850.00.

The co-payment hasn't increased for a number of months. It's still the same as what it was a few months ago.
 
These fees and charges are still outrageous though. Last week I was looking for a return flight to Bali, found a JQ one in their middle price range for the dates required, Qantas fees and charges plus 26K points were around the same price as buying the $250 ticket!.

Return I assume? That sounds about right. If you want a laugh (or a cry) try quoting LA to Melbourne - it's around $380 USD, (over $500 AUD), just for a one way flight ...
 
Note to self - Stop coughing about the charges paid on the BA section of a recent AA miles redemption!
