Ditto, but no pay slips, just last Income Tax assessment (I'm self employed). Easiest approval I've ever had (least info asked for, no direct contact).

The questions on income and expenditure are pretty ambiguous; for example, it asks for "mortgage payments" - but doesn't say if they want the minimum required, or what's actually paid, or if they want for primary residence, or other mortgages. I muddled through :)

Agree it seemed a very low bar, and they are keen to get you spending:.

I applied last Thursday, got at least one text and email each day across my three day weekend (RDO Friday) reminding me to supply pay slips: I sent them Monday. My card has arrived yesterday (!), just waiting for my PIN - unusual, as they usually arrive the other way. A simple $2,500 advance payment on my child support that I would have to make in coming months anyway, and I can put this one up on the shelf. :cool:

I applied Wed night around midnight, got the auto approval that says "we are gunna have to think about it" (and i know why)

Got full approval before lunchtime the next day.

admittedly, I do have existing credit card with NAB for a lifetime, so that makes it easier for them to check out whether I am a wanker or not

credit card application are not based as much on such questions as most people think, They have to ask because they need to be seen to be making sound lending decisions, but obviously they are not verifying any of the details. So that in itself should be enough of a clue how important it is to get it accurate as possible

This has gotta be the easiest & fastest approval yet. Filled in the online application form early arvo. Around 3 hours later I get a call from NAB just to confirm I am who I really think I am. Approved pretty much instantly, apparently card coming in mail in next few days, and logging onto my NAB account (I'm already a customer so that helped) my new account is there!

Agree, I got an auto email reply asking for payslips, and a text message later saying congrats my card is on it's way! Didn't have to speak with anyone - take note Virgin Money!
I have a large bill to pay on the 3rd June which will take care of the min spend- this card is likely to have a very short life!
 
I made the minimum spend last Thursday (18th May). 80000 bonus points posted last night. Unfortunately points have to be transferred in multiples of 3000 so of my 82500 points I was only able to transfer 81000. I'm contemplating canceling the card today and reapplying before 31 May. If i can make sure my new card links to my old rewards account then after my new minimum spend I should have 84000 points which will be wholly transferable!

you might think you have cancelled the card, but it remains open in the bank system for an extended period of time, possibly 2 months or more. This allows for a few things, like chargebacks, delayed transactions and opportunities for the cardholder to easily reactivate it with a simple phone call.

This may affect your ability to apply again and get the offer.

Whilst the account information may still be active/available your account is closed the date on the letter you receive notifying of this. It will not impact on your ability to apply for a new card.

I agree with the Dr. I applied the day my cancellation letter arrived and points came through again. Just cancelled 1 hr ago and plan to apply by the 31 May.
 
No problem with cancelling and reapplying. I have had 5 NAB cards in the last year or so. Also the leftover points from the previous card posted to my latest one. The only reason I haven't cancelled and reapplied again is that I am OS until August.

Am even more impressed- Applied Monday, card arrived today- and I am outside the meto area so our mail generally takes an extra day. Well done NAB!

except for being a shareholder, maybe I should bring this up at a meeting.
 
Couple of Qs, please:

* They say "everyday spend" eligible. To save me a call to probably clueless call centre, would paying my insurance broker for a policy be OK?

* Where do the NAB points actually 'appear' ? Checking out my account on their web site, I can't find a likely looking place (I'm not expecting any points to have credited, yet)

Normally yes. Things like gambling normally not part of every day spend.


 
Looks like the new post May 31st offer is not nearly as attractive. Annual fee of $195 applies, only 50,000 bonus NAB points + double point earn for the first 6 months up to 60,000 NAB points (to max this requires a $30k spend).

Actually it requires a $60k spend - the offer is up to 60k bonus points on spend (1 bonus point per $1 in addition to the 1 'normal' point per $1 for the first 6mo), so to earn 60k bonus points you need to spend $60k.
