Hey Qantas, why is it that ....?

I have been trying on and off over the last 6 weeks to enrol my 3 grandkids in the QFF - obviously unsuccessfully - using this link =

But it keeps coming up with this error message =

Does anyone have a different free code to join, or suggestions please !!!!

The above works okay for me using an ASUS netbook and Chrome as a browser. What about using a different browser and/or clearing your cache?

When travelling with friends I will always select A and C. I like the aisle seat and the vast majority of my friends like the window. If someone ends up in B then so be it. Why should my friend or I not be able to sit in our preferred seats if they are available to be selected. :confused:

Like that time you and I selected 1A and 2A and the random guy thought we should sit together because we were travelling together, and he wanted the window seat.

Exactly what we do. With two WP blocking the middle the strategy seems to work most times but we never select rows 4-6.
 
The ones mrs downgraded collects each time they are offered and passes to me :)
 
Qantas why is it that you think it is OK to have fewer WCs on flights (esp long haul) than are legally required in a restuarant in Australia:

This is at worst 1/33 customers. Staff get separate facilites. Also, handwashing facilities are often separate to the loo and restuarant customers are no there for up to 18 hours

A friend who regularly travels on QF25/26 between Sydney and Japan is always complaining about this. I think she likes a tipple or three, but she has a point.

Completely agree with this.

I understand the "cost" of carrying "extra" toilets on an aircraft, but it's verging on awful on some flights how long people have to wait to use the WC. I don't mind as much for a MEL-SYD as demand is less, but any flight over 4hrs, :shock::evil:.

I wonder what the ratio of toilet to staff is at QF HQ......

Just out of interest how long have you waited to use the bathroom on a flight? I don't recall ever waiting more than 5 minutes.

For me, 35 minutes on MEL-DXB in Y after last meal service. Several parents changing children, a few elderly people taking 10+ minutes each, huge queue, some people had to sit back down and wait until we arrived into DXB. Tough luck if they were in desperate need.

No idea what the ? in the middle refers to but to answer your question. Maybe it's the FAA, Boeing and Airbus that you should be asking. All of these sort of things are regulated and the airlines (plural) are simple following the regulations. How would you apply this to a B737 or A320 that are only built with three toilets? i.e. one per 56pax plus crew?

As a sideline do you really think it is practical to have seperate facilities for the staff? Remembering they are the ones that have to clean the pax ones anyway.

To a certain extent the internal fit out is up to the airline. On large aircraft they have multiple options to increase WCs. Manufacturers can design aircraft with all sorts of passenger friendly ideas... like 8 abreast on the 787. Doesn't mean airlines will follow.

Don't agree. The airlines will never/rarely put in extra things like toilets then the minimum that the manufacturer offers and the regulator requires.

They want/need maximum seats.

Looking at the seat map Qantas and Korean appear to have 5 WCs on the upper deck of their A380s, SQ, Emirates, Asiana have 6. Lots of flexibility on WC positioning.

The ? was an image from the Australian regulations that got mushed on uploading. I was not suggesting separate staff WCs, rather it is an indication of the legal requirement re the number of WCs for a set number of people

Why ask QF? Because they removed a lot of loos from the original configuration (and also 1/3 of the F galley) thereby simultaneously increasing the number of pax and decreasing the number of loos. And because they promote themselves as a premium brand whilst lowering the standards.

I read an interesting article last week: it had wc: pax for several aircraft over the years and a comparison of several airlines and the fit our for current aircraft. QF (& EK) got a really bad rating for poor ratios when compared with competitors.
