I would be keeping any voucher. Conversation "off line" .... loose lips sink ships!

I'm sure QF are aware of the situation, their IT simply isn't up to doing anything about it ;)

Can you book through 3rd party / OTAs? They seem to be about 10% cheaper than Qantas's website even without the CC fees.

Gift vouchers successfully worked with the last DSC promo. Buy now, redeem later, double SCs :)

On the gift vouchers, are you sure Qantas hasn't updated their system? I bought some before the Xmas period (Dec 3 2016), redeemed in mid Dec during a 1.5x points promo which ran between 5 Dec - 11 Dec, the bonus points posted as soon as i took the flights even though the gift vouchers were created well outside of the promo period.

Sounds like they may have done then, I haven't tried it recently.

If they've fixed one half of the equation they've probably fixed the other half as well.

Re: Double status credits 2/3/17 - 6/3/17

Interesting. A month earlier than last year. Forward bookings mustn't be looking too good with the over inflated domestic airfares.

Easter was in March last year, so it's about revenue distribution.

Re: Double status credits 2/3/17 - 6/3/17

Damn. Got offered the loyalty bonus of 50SC or 8000pts and took the SCs because I was 535 and needing 600 to requalify for gold. Could have easily made the 600 with this offer and took the points. Oh well.

And FASA / JASA's are here to stay ......

My new card arrived 2 weeks ago, old logo - but I am concerned I will loose it..... in April, or May.

if you're lucky you may get 10 days in CBP holding while they "welcome you" to the United States :D

(off topic but I couldn't resist the reference)

Damn, buying that for me and using AA points for Mrs QF WP and kids later this year would have worked - but no chance of getting it organised in 4 days :(

It has in the past, but there is no guarantee this would continue. You take your chances.
Anecdotal evidence suggests it may not work anymore either.

I'm expecting a PS, SG and WP card this year

That is my plan now too. Ready to book this afternoon. I will rightfully enter MEL F lounge courtesy of status and flight class. Lil ole me. :D

I refused to use my silver card but hung on to the SG one but did board with the masses. Then SG arrived three weeks ago. Hoping for WP in early April although I may not be home to get it.

What has given rise to make you think there has been a change?

I'm willing to risk it. We fly heaps domestically so a bunch of $50 will work a treat anyway.

Got another PNR question for the AFF brain trust - if one buys a ticket within this deal now for one pax, then adds another pax to the booking (who has registered for the DSC) months down the track, will a new PNR then be generated or will the second pax be added to the PNR of the first pax?

You can't add additional passengers to an existing booking. So there will be a new PNR for the second passenger. You can call up QANTAS and ask them to link the bookings to increase your chances of seats together (if you select those) sticking.

Ahh, of course, thanks. However I believe you can combine bookings? If so, does an entirely new PNR get generated then?

EDIT: soz, noticed you added the second sentence explanation after I replied!
