"100 bonus Velocity Points for every 2,000 flybuys points transferred." is more like an 11% bonus than a 5% bonus (still less than 15%, but not as bad as 5%)

We just happen to use Coles anyway and we have found the partnership between Velocity and Flybuys has netted us over 20,000 Flybuys points in a few months. They send you a booklet full of "bonus" coupons that need to be utilized over a staged period, but when you're shopping for your (6 person) family's weekly groceries, this is not difficult. The only thing I remain firm on, is not getting sucked into the single brand purchase offer.
The flybuys program is an excellent platform for moving your points over to Velocity. I get 870 VFF points for every 2000 flybuys points, but I can earn those 2000 points in a single shop if I use my bonus coupon. The best part is that it is an instantaneous transfer. The points are in your account before you can refresh the page.
There is a generous cap too, can't remember what it is, but there's no way I'll exceed it.

nice summary! I also appreciate the speed of points hitting my account and speed of transfer. We are only a couple, but Christmas & some summer gatherings has made this a better earner than my work travel recently!

Neither of us got the recent booklet- is that targeted or should I give them a call?

The arrival of coupons is targetted and doesn't seem to have any rhyme or reason as far as I can see

You can say that again - I've been a Flybuys member for years, I used to get the coupons in the mail from time to time, but haven't received any for about 4 years. I saw a number of people on various forums commenting on using the coupons, so contacted Flybuys recently to find out why I never got them. Their standard response is that due to the large number of FB members, not all mailouts are sent to every member every time. Well, that's fine, but what about those of us who NEVER receive them? No answer to that question, they just gave me the same response about "not all mailouts ... etc".

I receive my FB statement by email, so checked the FB website - nowhere to opt in to receive snail mail communications (thought that might trigger the coupons again), so I contacted FB again and asked about going back to receiving my statement by mail ... and was told that even if I opted to do that, and even if I removed my email address from my account, there was NO guarantee I would receive any coupons at all. I've tried several times by both email and phone to see whether contacting/speaking to a different CSO would get a better outcome but nope, same response each time - pretty much bad luck, we can't tell you why you're not getting coupons at all but also can't tell you whether you'll ever get any in the future.

I have also found email notification of flybuys coupons to be patchy, however I consistently get one at the bottom of my receipt when I shop instore. Usually a "triple points on next shop" or "spend $100, get bonus 750 points" which is pretty easy for our family of 4 (albeit 2 humans 2 cats).

Struggling to use your Frequent Flyer Points?

Frequent Flyer Concierge takes the hard work out of finding award availability and redeeming your frequent flyer or credit card points for flights.

Using their expert knowledge and specialised tools, the Frequent Flyer Concierge team at Frequent Flyer Concierge will help you book a great trip that maximises the value for your points.

I don't think the coupon book is specifically designed or targeted towards Flybuys members - it is more of a Coles coupon leaflet with a 10 week promotion. I guess if you shop at Coles nearly everyday (as I do), the system would recognize you as regular shopper at Coles and therefore, a candidate for the promotion.

Further to my post this morning, another 10,000 flybuys points just landed, all for doing nothing more than feeding my feral crew.

And I checked the cap: you can transfer up to 138,000 flybuys points per calendar year.

I shop at Coles several times a week - have done for years, and always swiped/scanned my FB card each time, but still no coupon books for the last few years :(

Ouch. There goes my theory.........Mind, you I spend over $300 a week with them. Do you think it's revenue related?

Quite possibly - I don't spend anywhere near that amount LOL. There's only the two of us in the household, and we also have WW at the same shopping centre, so I shop at both. Spend amounts at each depend on what specials are on that week, although I have moved more of my spend towards Coles since the FB hookup with Velocity, mainly for the SCs. I also shop at Aldi now they've started opening stores here (yay!), so that's cut down on some of my spending with the two majors.

I almost never receive offers on the bottom of the Coles dockets either. I think I've received two "spend x amount in one shop and get x bonus points" docket offers in the past 3 years and that's it. The rest of the time, I just get those stupid Liquorland offers, which are totally useless seeing as I don't drink alcohol.

ETA: Just saw your post about linking FB and Velocity - yep, did this back in October, as soon as it was announced.

That's the problem. Flybuys don't reward loyalty, they reward disloyalty. The coupons most commonly come to those who only scan their card every couple of weeks or who have reduced their spending during the previous months.

If you don't seem to be getting any offers of any type, go into your account and unsubscribe from all communications or just the Coles communications. A few hours later, go in and resubscribe to these options. A week or two later the offers usually start again.

Being disloyal is part of playing the game.

Don't shop at Coles for a month and watch the offers come rolling in.

I gave that a go last year, but didn't seem to have any effect unfortunately. Will try again and see if it triggers anything this time.

So people say but I've tried that a couple of times with both Coles and Woolworths - in fact, I gave all the supposed "tricks" a go e.g. only scanning for small shops, or for only large shops, scanning for every shop, not scanning the card at all for a while (several months in the case of WW), didn't do any good for either of the rewards programs. Guess they just don't like me LOL.

And Velocity is now on the same bandwagon, as I don't get anything from them any more either (have just tried unsubscribing and resubscribing there as well, but not holding my breath).

If you are not getting offers or emails call up and ask them to wipe your email and renter it.
i was not getting any offers for years as I was a woolies customers - when I jumped
on points and wondered why I never got any offers or targeted email offers I did some researh. It appears your email can fall off the system even though it is entererd in the system . After calling and re entering email I got offers and targeted emails within a month and it's regular now .

It's not that I'm not getting emails at all though, which is the odd thing With Flybuys, get my statement and the occasional offer for Coles Express (usually for buying Premium 98 fuel, which I've never bought and never will LOL), as well as regular "join Medibank now!" FB emails, but no offers otherwise, and definitely nothing for Coles. With Velocity, I usually receive confirmation emails if I change something on my account, set up family pooling etc, but haven't had a statement from them since last June and no offers/program updates etc since October.

So in both those situations, my email address is obviously still attached to my account as it works for some things but not with others. Still, wouldn't hurt giving your suggestion a try, as nothing else seems to have worked!
