Hello fellow FF

My wife and I are both One World Sapphire status (LTG Qantas), and are flying Finnair from Milan to Helsinki and back in May.

We are flying economy class.

My query is does our OW status allow us access to the Finnair lounge in Milan ( Monteverdi Lounge ) and in Helsinki?

Many thanks

According to the One World Alliance page you have lounge access departing MXP flying AY.https://www.oneworld.com/ffp/lounge-access/-/loungeaccess/MXP . Unfortunately I cannot comment on this lounge as I've never been to Milan.
Although having travelled on AY last year departing HEL you will most certainly have reasonable lounge access in HEL ( Schengen area) for flights to Milan.
The lounge is very much Scandinavian In design, with quite a basic food and drink spread IMO, although certainly worth a visit in HEL.

Just an FYI, All AY inter-Europe flights in Y, are all pay on-board for food and drink, although baggage allowance and seat selection is free for those with OW status.
As a side, The onboard duty free does offer some interesting products including airline exclusive Marimeko products if that's your sort of thing.

Yes, you can access both lounges. Be sure to try out the naked sauna in Helsinki! It's a great lounge.

If you are lucky you may also be able to select Economy Comfort seats on Finnair. Although I'm not sure if that is only reserved for emeralds.

I never visited the international ( non-schengen) AY lounges, but they certainly do appear to be quite revealing. :o Lol

Many thanks for your thoughts.
We have managed to secure exit row seats both sectors, and will be paying 17 Euros for lunch on board

Don't forget to report back afterwards!

We use AY regularly around Europe and have had no trouble with lounge access or the on board service.

Good to hear.
Will happily let everyone know how things go after we return at end May

Regrettably, I have to report that following a fall Mrs AV broke a bone in her foot - in 2 places, which led to a cancellation of the entire trip. Unfortunately we were therefore unable to avail ourselves of the Finnair lounge - and sauna - sorry about that. Look forward to the experience next time we pass through Helsinki

Damn shame - trust Mrs AV has a speedy recovery.
