JQ to launch new services from both SYD ( 4 x weekly) and MEL ( 3 x weekly) direct to Ho Chi Minh City starting in May this year.

Ready, Set, Pho: Jetstar takes off to Vietnam!

Sales fares to commence from 12 noon today , starting from $159 each way. This announcement is now all over social media, so one would suspect the cheap seats will be hard to snatch.

Will JQ be more successful this time around flying into SGN?

$159 e/w is a good intro price.

Wonder what "regular" pricing will be.

What routes are dropping to free up a 787?

BNE > HNL, OOL > WUH have already been discontinued with no services replacing them.

MEL > NRT will be concluded by February.

That's freed up over 1 aircraft frame.

Couldn't manage to find this from the home page, nor from the "virtual assistant" but found it in a google search ftw.....

That list is accurate at this point in time, with these new services to SGN obviously missing from the page.

Flight time departing MEL looks O.K, departing at 03:15pm arriving into SGN at 9:05pm
Ex SYD, not so much fun with an arrival into SGN past midnight.

Red Eye's on the return sector to both SYD & MEL departing SGN in the wee small hours past Midnight.

The MEL flights will get similar timings as SYD from 02SEP:

JQ63 MEL 18:40 - 00:30+1 SGN 788 136
JQ64 SGN 02:00 - 13:35 MEL 788 247
