That must have be a while ago !

So who was the first "big and famous" band/singer that you saw?

I'm thinking mine must have been Bob Dylan at the old Sydney showground in about 1978. Shocking weather, didn't help that the Easter show had only been on a few weeks previously. Mud and slush, and they wouldn't let us bring our case of beer in. :(

And mine was Gerry and the Pacemakers at the Stadium in 1964.Then the Dave Clark Five also at the Stadium in 1965.
Then in the second half of the 60s it was World Championship Wrestling at the Stadium with characters such as Killer Kowalski,Brute Bernard and Skull Murphy along with the ladies favourite Larry O'Day.

One for the ladies of the 60s, Normie Rowe, at Echuca Theatre in 1965 (or maybe 64). So embarrassed that my father who had driven my friends and me in, bought a ticket and stayed at the back for the concert. Not only that, but at the end, girls were running up to the stage, and he came and collected us to take us home before we could follow suit.

The wrestling I remember well from TV, my father wouldn't let me watch it if he was home, along with roller derby.

A very sedate Xmas lunch with the parents has come and gone.

Tomorrow is another story! Boxing day will be a completely different event with 40+ descending upon us ... lucky we're going on a two week holiday in a few days.

I knew the Wiggles when they were early childhood students at Macq Uni and were just starting this kids party entertainment thing.

Actually, my earliest band would have been the Rolling Stones in Adelaide, 1973(?), I was staying with my rellos in West Beach, there had been some trouble at the previous nights concert, so a call had gone out to the surf life saving clubs to provide some security(?) at the Adelaide tennis centre. We had to wear dark pants and a white shirt. Once it got dark, we scarpered from the periphery and saw a great concert, free as well! Still got a photo somewhere which I'll have to find.

Not to forget Mario Milano and Spiros Arion as the other "good guys": dad always took me to Festival Hall in Melbourne, the matches all called by the one and only Jack Little.

Another star has fallen.

British singer George Michael has reportedly died at age 53, his publicist has said.

The star is said to have passed away peacefully at his home on Christmas Day after police attended a property in Oxfordshire at around 1:42PM GMT. Police say there were no suspicious circumstances.

In a statement, Michael's publicist said: "It is with great sadness that we can confirm our beloved son, brother and friend George passed away peacefully at home over the Christmas period".

Michael, born Georgios Kyriacos Panayiotou, found fame in the 1980s as half of the music duo WHAM.
