Hi all - trying to book some flights next year for early dec, and trying to book cx flight s to hong kong.
All goes well - can find the J seats I want on thew qantas website - load in passengers - then whamoo - errors.
Checkign with QF service they say that these seats arent available - they are still showing due to 'lag'
24 hours later they are still showing
Deceptive conduct or what ?

Phantom availability happens a lot. Happens on VA too.
 
The Japan Airlines award booking tool (mileage bank) is more accurate for CX flights. Free to join mileage bank and you don't need any miles in your account to search, but the search process is a little clunky. But gets around the phantom availability of BA/QF's search tools.
