Award Ticket Cancellation Question

Cancelled a booking this morning at about 8.30am. Just wondering how long it usually takes for the miles to be credited back to my account. Anyone have experience on this. I know it will cost me 6,000 points pp in cancellation fees but at least I get the taxes back (over $800).

I find it takes longer if the currency the taxes were paid in is not AUD, or if someone presses the wrong button or something, and they'll often just give you some line about it being in a "queue" (that doesn't end up clearing without intervention). Best to call and hassle them if you need/want the points back soon.

patience. It has been barely 2 hours.

The last couple I've cancelled the points were back in the account before I hung up. The cash can take around a week.
