AA/JL First Class (F) from ICN (Seoul) to NYC - AUD$3800 return

Been trying to get this one to line up with a conference in New Orleans next year. However, on google flights the price kept blowing out to A$17k. Turns out, many prices will drop after each step and then down to A$3800 when you get to the website.

Ended up with the following itinerary:
ICN-NRT-JFK-DFW-MSY | MSY-CLT-JFK-NRT-ICN

NRT-JFK and vv are in JL F, rest in J

For those that don't know, these are full F and J refundable fares.

Now to just get to ICN :)

business class ICN-JFK is coming in at AUD1290 (sample dates 13-27 july 2017). JL outbound AA for the return. Pretty sweet.

Where have you been able to price it for only AUD $1290? aa.com (and everywhere else I've tried... all the usual suspects) are all coming in at AUD $2500+ :-|

Fare is now cheaper! AUD1256 return... or 1099500 KRW

On AA.com I went to the country selection at the top of the screen, selected Korean/English. The dates i posted above still work. Plus other selected dates around that.

After you enter the booking details (origin/destination and dates) you should get a pop-up screen asking you to confirm that your data can be sent to third parties etc etc. I think that must be some sort of Korean requirement.

Yep, country is set to Korea, but aa.com is still pricing at over 2,200,000 KRW for me (over $2500 AUD) :evil:
Just checking, but you do realise that aa.com shows prices for the outbound and inbound sectors separately, i.e. the price displayed at the top of your search results (1,099,500 KRW or thereabouts) is only roughly half of the total final cost.

oh. I must have screwed up here. These look like coach fares. I swear they were displaying as business restricted before! :oops: I could't get F class to display at all and these came up under business/first option.

Yep, KRW 1,099,500 is the price for economy (return) not business.

Managed to snag GMP-HND-SFO/PDX-LAX-JFK/JFK-SFO-PDX/PDX-SFO/SFO-LAX-NRT/HND-GMP.
Transpac JL F both ways, transcon AA F both ways. 5 stopovers. 960 SCs by my reckoning. $38xx AUD, before US Fed raised rates, so not too shabby at all.

It took me many many hours with mine and it only worked on one date combination. I am going to try and move the MSY to 2 days later so I can spend a weekend in New Orleans.
 
So JAL has switched its New York flights JL5/6 from NRT to HND and now my 2 hour transit through NRT has become a stopover and airport change (ie not going to happen) ... ugh!
Anyone in the same boat?
