I wasn't even aware of the CX charters over CNY! Shame they'll route via CNS too, my mum hates that she always gets the flight that stops in CNS at some ungodly hour.

Really great result for Cairns.
This flight, as well as the new Philippine Airlines flights to Manila and Auckland more than make up for the loss of the United Airlines flight to Guam.

shame about the carrier though - wouldn't touch them with a barge pole. They always seem to get the worst press in HK be it for non-paid engineering bills or whistleblowers on pilot training standards or the latest passenger riots for flights to china

The airlines sure are re loving Cairns and with B$ of new projects to hand and others like AQUIS possible the investors are flocking in like doves, not forgetting the proposed lifting of the high restrictions to 26 floors the boom is on. Even Cairns City Council had no rate increase this coming year, doing a sterling job, so yep bring it on... but what airline is next?

Think NZ is regular, yes the Chinese have numerous flights into CNS Chinese NY too.

Could that just be CX flexing their dominance and influence over everyone else though?

If this gets the nod then airlines will be biting at the bit to landing in CNS as foreigners can buy new property in OZ.

They have some good fares ex OOL- in the $2200-2500 range for returns to China/Bangkok etc. Business class includes full flat beds.
