Hi, received this email from Qantas this afternoon. Anyone else got this invitation? What should I expect to get from this event? Thanks.

I certainly didn't get one, but then again, unlike you, I haven't flown QF F very often at all.

I guess the minimum you will expect is food and drink. :) The rest of it, is mainly I guess a chance to either praise or vent on your F experiences, and maybe influencing how they could change (either the current service offering, and/or a new cabin / offering).

I received the invite, but unfortunately will be flying domestic Y that night - bugger.

Good News.
You might want to remove names, emails and phone numbers from the 2nd post

Would love to know what will be discussed but I'm sure it will be subject to NDA.

I would however have thought a rough design was well progressed and they will be looking to install a new First and new Business in the A380s from the end of next year to coincide with the 787 introduction

Oh yeah...

... you might expect a bunch of people posting in this thread their comments you may like to relay to the Qantas team at the event! :)

Thanks for your advice........2nd image removed.

My thoughts, having been on QF F thrice and also BA and CX, but never the ME3.

A more private cabin, but also not too claustrophobic (personally think this is one of QFs cabin strengths) - maybe higher screens that can be pushed down.

Seating for two for couples to eat together a must.

Big big tv screen.

Multiple A/V and power connections. At a minimum id expect HDMI and USB-C (future proof) for video and multiple USB for charging, including high flow (eg. 15W+ outlets). Outlets in cabinets as well that can be used when sleeping

Multiple storage spaces including a jacket/shirt rack

Sturdy table supported on the far edge

I would be doubtful of showers or individual drinks cabinets - don't see the trade of for the space needed

A bit more design uniqueness in the cabin, the current F is a little too understated for me, albeit not EK bling

Having flown F only the once (SYD-LHR return), I found the experience really good. However, things that I thought should be looked at are (in no particular order).
Decor, If EK is Dame Edna, the QF is Madge Alsop! understated is one thing, drab is something else, lets face it, most pax in F have ponied up a significant wedge to be there. as someone once said, "you don't get a second chance, to make a first impression".

Seats, pretty good when compared to the rest of the plane, but i thought a tiny bit more width was in order, really important when trying to sleep.

Have on board what you promise. I was really looking forward to the Pol Roger Winston Churchill. on all four sectors there wasn't any available , not a good look IMHO.

Mrs GPH and I did spend some time together, BUT I'm not necessarily worried if we don't sit opposite each other for meal service.

the food was pretty good as I recall, and generally i was a happy chappy to be in F.

I haven't flown F yet but I hear the food menu is quite similar to J. They could make it stand out a bit more.

More FLounges and more routes with F would be good.

If they do do new suites they should do some promotions to encourage people who regularly fly J to try the new F.

I would hope they would get some feedback from those who regularly fly J too asking them what changes they could make to F to make it more attractive to them. For continued success of F it's important they upsell some people from J to F.

They promise you one of the three champagnes listed, not all 3. We would have loved the Pol Roger too but unfortunately it was not the selected bottle for that flight.

Although the session seems just about the cabin, I wonder if there'll be any discussion around many of the other complaints about QF's F product here on AFF: J class food, lack of special treatment at the airport, and QF's famous 'consistently inconsistent' approach.

Invitation is about the F experience, so I would say every aspect is open for comment.

Food and wine criticism may be awkward given the venue! But these actually would be my two biggest concerns -- not much better than J or even PE.; inflexible dining time; no 'wow' meals; ordinary wines; lack of really top notch spirits.

I quite like the cabins. Basic functionality is fine. Privacy, space, good IFE and comfortable seat are key. I wouldn't be advocating wholesale change. I'm not hugely experienced in F though.

Shower, staffed bar and an improved lounge area onboard.

From my experience of QF F the cabin is fine, it's the soft product that needs work.

The Frequent Flyer Concierge team takes the hard work out of finding reward seat availability. Using their expert knowledge and specialised tools, they'll help you book a great trip that maximises the value for your points.

AFF Supporters can remove this and all advertisements

I guess a question that has to be asked is what are they planning to give J that only F currently has?

If they do nothing to improve F then the gap between J and F will close further which will make it harder to sell F seats.
