Hi Just wondering how strict or how to get around the "Head to toe gym wear" rule at the Qantas business lounge. I Fly from syd every monday and was thinking of going to the gym prior since I am unable Monday afternoon. My gym doesn't have a shower and I would want to go straight in and shower and change to work clothes at the Syd lounge

I'm sure the lounge would oblige if you headed straight to a shower and changed into something more in keeping with dress codes/presentable. You could also probably shower in the QP before heading around the corner to the J lounge.

I'd like to think so but not keen on risking it and being denied and having to take two flights smelly or with a deo shower

instead of 'enquiring' about how everyone else should 'bend' their rules to suit you, how about entertaining the idea of personal responsibility and just don't go to the gym that day?. If you cant possibly miss gym that day, I think you have other issues that QF cant help you with;)

 Umm - shouldn't you call and ask this question directly of those who will ultimately say yay or nay?

I think it's a good question. Qantas have showers and the ability to change. I have often headed in dressed head to toe in high vis and come out in a suit after being at a mine site. Kind of negates half the reason of having showers if you can't show up 'dirty' beforehand.

The title of the post is "clarification" not how can I bend the rules. Such as if throwing a jumper over the top or something would get me in.

I never said I need to go to the gym everyday and I never said I couldn't miss a day of the gym. If you had comprehended my whole post you probably would have realised that this is something I haven't done before (ie go to gym on Monday morning before flight).

I was just hoping someone on this site may have been in a similar position or done this before and told me what they did.

Don't worry about that post, most of us understood what you meant. I know people who have been told that gym / active wear is not acceptable attire for QF club / bus lounge. Can you drop in quickly to the airport toilets and throw some jeans and a tshirt on?

Yeah I could if needed was just hoping I wouldn't have to "dirty"/sweat on clean clothes

QF have been pretty adamant with enforcing the dress code in relations to footwear, is there a way you can have a fresh jacket/top to cover the gym wear just in case?

Why should they have to? There are bathrooms with showers in the QC exactly for this purpose!
