Ah thanks for info I had thought like F belts both lap and sash had to be used when seat belt sign comes on

I haven't flown QF F very often but I don't recall that being a requirement.

But I agree the sash belts are a pain. There's lots to like about the new suites but many things that are also rather frustrating.

Just was an assumption on my part that lap and sash is used together. Nothing to do with any knowledge of a legal requirement.

Lap-sash belts result in a massive reduction in spinal injuries in deceleration accidents. The lap is sufficient in turbulence where forward deceleration is not the problem (but hitting the ceiling is a risk)

Minor discomfort but certainly feels more secure than resting your head on your arms while leaning on the seat in front!
 
Wow the A330 Business seat is amazing. Wish they used it for more domestic flights. A better business seat than the standard domestic business seat makes flying business that extra bit worthwhile.
