Hi,
I arrive Haneda on Lufthansa on wednesday morning and depart Narita for Brisbane that evening in busines
I have to transport our bags to NRT ? by bus.
I am wondering what is the earliest time we can check in at NRT and what time the Qantas Lounge opens.
Now that the SYD-Japan ends up at HND, I am wondering what services remain at NRT?

You always have to transport your own bags between co terminals such as LGA/JFK, LHR/LTN and HND/NRT.

JALs SYD flight still goes to NRT, as does QF's BNE flight. All the JQ AU-JP flights go to NRT.

QF has direct flights BNE to /from NRT.
Good strategy by QF to utilise both Tokyo airports.

Cheers

As others have said, you will have to collect your bags and transport them between the airports. This is similarly the case even for same airline connections... JL->JL requires you to take your own bags.

Probably best to check on the relevant airline's website to see what time check-in opens, you'll be able to use the lounge after that time. It's usually 3 hours before, but may be longer depending on the airline.

QF operates SYD-HND and BNE-NRT.

But JL's SYD-TYO flight arrives into NRT, which I think was the statement made.

For the OP, I flew from NRT-BNE this year and there was zero flexibility for checking in early. Absolutely none. Myself and a fair few others waited in a queue for check in to open (I was there about 3hr30min before boarding)

I would recommend ditching your luggage in the city, either at the concierge system in Tokyo station, or the coin locker system at any of the majors (e.g. Ueno) and then eating your way around Tokyo for a few hours, before arriving for check in and lounge time.

PS I'd recommend the JL lounges over the QF one at NRT, personally, especially if you're platinum.

Hope this helps.

The flights that currently operate between Australia and Tokyo are:
QF
SYD-HND
BNE-NRT
JQ
MEL-NRT
OOL-NRT
CNS-NRT
JL
SYD-NRT
NH
SYD-HND

As others have said, unfortunately you won't be able to check-in your bag until 3hrs before you next flight so take your time transiting across from HND. I did this connection last Sunday morning and had to wait at the BA check-in for 2hrs until they opened. Then I went through to the pretty good (but crowded initially) JAL Flounge.

There's plenty of connections between the two airports. I just went to the info desk and asked there and they directed me towards a bus. ($40AUD one-way)

Hi, Thank you for your advice.
As we arrived at HND from northern Norway, we were tired on arrival.
So we just got the coach to NRT,booking office easy to find , as noted AUD 40 per person and went to to Arrivals level at NRT and asked the Hotels for a day room.
Only Narita Easy Rest House was available-convenient shuttle, $77 for twin room for 5 hours.
No problems with a/c , rooms old but clean and iccl toothpaste , shavers etc.
QF checkin was well and truly in operation at the 3.5 hour predeparture mark ? because they also handled an earlier Jetstar flight.
