Disclaimer - I'm not a beer drinker and have only ever consumed the total of one full beer during my whole life.....

However, I though that this article was interesting and I'm sure very exciting to the beer fans on this page.

KLM Airlines to offer Heineken beer on tap during flights in world first

We managed to set the diameter of the tap and the air pressure to exactly the right combination, which delivers at 36,000 feet (11,000m) exactly the same beer as you would get on the ground.

I'd just be interested in seeing the whole lot working!

At first I thought "FINALLY!".

Read on. It won't be cold and, despite the picture, I reckon it'll be in plastic cups. About as exciting as a beer in the outer at the cricket really.

Don't like ice in your beer? Beer is never cold in an aircraft cabin and on international flights always ask for ice in the cup.

I have been lucky enough, on the evening EK flight in both J & F from AKL-BNE, to get the hostie to put half a doz cans in some ice just for me at the bar down back

We'll have to see if it takes off. hahaha, sorry very lame.

Despite the temperature at which the beer will apparently be served, I think this is very cool!

I wonder though, which "select" KLM flights will this be available on?

Just another gimmick.

The beer will still come from a container and at 6000 feet cabin pressure, the beer will get flatter quicker in an emptying "keg" .
i would rather it come from a bottle or can.

Most certainly not JohnK. I see dudes do that in Asia often but watered down beer sounds awful. Agreed that it's never cold enough in the cabin from a can. Eric2011 has the right idea but a sixer? I'm not Boonie.

It doesn't taste watered down to me. But for me watered down beer is a good thing. ;)
