Have any AFF members posted actual TRs re new product? What are general impressions to date of those who have experienced new cabin?

Airliners had a pretty good report of the new product and someone on youtube posted a good video about 2 weeks ago.

This is a glass half empty vision, but has anyone travelling recently noticed a decline in the J class seats for the old configuration? I cannot guarantee that we won't get the original version in August and I really won't care which hard product we get, but I would be devastated if the seats don't work perfectly, or the screen glitches due to lack of maintenance etc.

Any thoughts?

I flew in late December last year and did not notice any issues. I read on here other reports of torn seats, lumpy ect.

Flew on the old config. Saturday. None of the overhaed lights in row 5 could be operated with the handset. Other than an overcooked meal that was the only seating issue I noticed.

Sitting on a A330 right now MEL to PER it's my 3rd time in the new seats and they really are nice I'm a big guy at 183cm and 110kg and I feel like I have enough space. Flying BNE to LAX on 9th July, currently showing new product so fingers crossed.

VH-VPF operated VA9948 CWF-LAX. Looks like its now scheduled as VA2 on 30/6, although could still swap with VPD.

Tad strange they tend to have one fly CWF-LAX as one goes LAX-CWF for a quick turn around.
Though my bet goes on VH-VPE when it goes to LAX next.

Just got off VA8 in new config and it was great.

Sat in 3A and the seat was very comfy for me. Well padded in the lower back area. Service was also great

Pre breakfast coffee and muffins at the bar.....had a great time

Shot of VPF at the gate taken from the *A lounge (one that JessicaTam took earlier). Boarding soon for its first refurbed flight as VA2.

I will also add to my comments that a curtain was installed either side of the bar to stop the light shining into the J cabin. Cabin manager said to me it was overlooked on the first refurb but fixed for future. I am not sure whether the first refurb aircraft has been rectified yet though.

There are 4 curtains. Both aisles.... rear of front J cabin ( behind row 7 ) and front of rear J cabin ( in front of row 8 )

That's good to know, just have to wait for someone to report back on how much of a difference it made when seated in rows 8-10

Considering I was in row 50 I am unable to comment.

The crew were all aware it was the first flight for the refurb and I think were genuinely excited to be on it. It was very shiny and new. :)

Also very keen to hear exp of a couple sharing middle seats as to whether or not interaction is at all comfortable or if both returned to ground with 'cricked necks'?

Flying on the 9th with a work colleague. Not quite a "couple" experience but close enough I'm sure. I'll report back on the middle seats.

Wife and I were 4D & 4G on VA2 last month and was excellent.
Night flight limited the amount of talking though we typically find the noise levels of the 777's and 330's inhibiting despite my better half able to talk underwater.
