Hi all,
I am trying to book a trip to MNL and am experiencing something weird.
I select a flex fare outbound for $899 then when i select the return leg in J for $1700 the original flex fare remains selected but goes up to $2600, which is more than a J fare.
This is the first time I have encountered this, is it normal? or if I phone to get the flights would i get the original prices?

Cheers

Without looking up specific fare rules it's probably that the J fare requires combination with a full-Y or some other specific fare bucket other than the "Flex" fare you originally selected. ie "Flex" can refer to a series of fares and booking classes, they are not all the same thing. Your original one may, for example, book into class K or M at that fare level, but that won't work with the return sector in J so autopricing moves the outbound up to the appropriate bucket.

just a guess.

Have found that as well.

Annoying doing it all one at a time.

I knew that you could do Y & PE but did not know that you could combine a flex Y with sale J.
