Bye Bye E-Jets :-( (and some ATRs)

This will probably result in downgrading some routes to ATR's

How many F100's do they have? I'm not sure how they could expect to keep pax and fly an ATR from CNS to BNE! I used to particularly search out the E-Jet sectors on that route. Oh, well, who am I to criticise, I'm sure they know best................Ha, yeah right!

They are increasingly involved with Alliance airlines who recently purchased the entire Austrian Fokker fleet. 21 frames i believe. Whether these might be flying for VA im not sure.

14 F100's in the fleet .

i highly doubt that CNS-BNE would ever get an ATR , but places for example like ROK , which are currently mixed E190/ATR , likely to go all ATR , or a reduction in maybe 1 service/day and add in a 737 to keep total available seats on the route unchanged.

I was shattered when they got rid of the E170s, but now the E190s????? Noooooooooooooooo.
My favourite aircraft to fly on.

I've never yet flown an F100, but I have learnt that my distaste for ATR's is purely with VA and their abominable seat selection. I fly the Hevilift ATR 42's twice a month (at least) and they are no problem on 3hour flights as they have very comfortable seats. The VA ATR's were obviously chosen on the basis of the LEAST comfortable seats of any airline in existence (including the very ordinary Twotters). How are the F100's? Hopefully, the useless VA accountants had nothing whatsoever to do with that seat selection!

Keeping seat numbers is not in keeping with JB's rhetoric....hang on, what was it?.....yes, here it is......
'Going forward, we will continue to stay focused on delivering an excellent customer experience to travellers in Australia

More than keeping seat numbers, is keeping frequency. Perhaps RB needs to scrap his pie-in-the-sky-bullcrap labelled Virgin Galactic and concentrate on the business product we expect to see (and pay for)!

The silver lining if any is that both the Fokker 50 and 100 have excellent seat pitch even in Y. No chance of it being refitted any smaller either as the birds are already at maximum certified seating capacity. So if your E190 flight gets changed to an F100 in time it's not all bad news. I believe they are also configured 2x3 so you have half the probability of being stuck in a middle seat compared to the dreadful 737.

I'm really sad about the E190s as well. Such great little jets - my favourite for short-ish flights. The Honda Civic of the sky. I'd get them a lot from MEL-SYD.
