I've got one of those convoluted looking-for-opinions questions :) Trying to get my head around options and best choices for MEL > western Japan and/or Taiwan > Europe > MEL.

As I have limited miles earning opportunities and rarely spare cash for premium travel, I like the experience to feel pampered/comfortable and having great food. I've previously flown C on QR (great food), EY (poor staff, average food), TG (poor food), MH (patchy staff, awful food). One problem for me is that I can't eat seafood and most premium cabin menus are blinged up with seafood canapés, lobster, caviar, etc, so I have at times felt a bit neglected cos the staff often lack the initiative to provide anything flexible (a spontaneously provided bowl of warm nuts made my day on TG once).

I have 143k QF points. Very limited available options for my travel period are
QF/CX C MEL-KIX (98k) or -Taiwan (72k),
CX C HKG-Europe (92k), EK C HKG-Europe (84k),
and there's one day of availability in EK F from KIX to CDG which requires 144k points (minor top-up, but I don't know the tax/surcharges).

I also have 72k SQ points with about another 10k due in about a fortnight. It looks like I can get MEL-Japan in C for 66k (including 15% online booking discount), but there are no other suitable flights available other than one day SIN-MEL.

For Europe-MEL there's nothing desirable and available, except I could splash out as a last minute option on some discounted LifeMiles (offer expires 3pm AEST 1/6) to achieve Europe-MEL C for about A$2000, but it'll require the screenshot method to get booked on TG or TK+TG, and availability is thin. (I don't regard CA or AI as good enough experiences, based on what I've read.) Or I just slum it in an overpriced o/w Y revenue ticket.

Is Emirates F something that would probably deliver, compared to just doing C instead on EK or CX? Should I just save my points for something planned further in advance? Ideas welcome (I know tastes vary widely;) )

The Frequent Flyer Concierge team takes the hard work out of finding reward seat availability. Using their expert knowledge and specialised tools, they'll help you book a great trip that maximises the value for your points.

EK F on the A380. Shower in the sky, chauffeur service from home to originating airport and from destination airport to hotel, caviar, Dom Perignon... Unfortunately they cleared out the Hennessy Paradis. Downside is that there are 14 seats in F, which can make it kind of cramped. I wouldn't fly EK F on any of their other aircraft types though #spoiltbrat
